And . . .We’re Off!

Passports renewed . . . check. House sitter found and prepped . . . check. Paper stopped, autopay set, foreign currency obtained . . . check! Bags packed . . . well, almost check.

Why does it often feel like there’s plenty of time, but in the last hours everything is frantic?

At this point we’re out of time, so if something is not checked . . . . oh well! Thank you very much for sharing this adventure with us, and I promise, better photos will come.

  1. Oh my goodness this sounds absolutely unbelievable. I did a report on hydroelectric power on the North Island when I was in high school or maybe it was junior high. I still have it -I should give it to you and see if there’s any resemblance to the present!
It’s amazing how tribal traditions are repeated in similar forms around the world. You just recognize little things in completely different settings that remind you of what you’ve seen before in another place.
You guys are cut ups in your photos! Way to have fun with it! Don’t forget to post a picture of those penguins. It doesn’t look like the word smog is even in their vocabulary.
Regarding the unexpected during travels, the funniest one we have had started probably 15 years ago, was seeing a UPS truck in the most unlikely of places! So now we always say no trip is complete until we have seen one!
